Havdalah
Havdalah is the Jewish ritual performed on Saturday night to mark the end of Shabbat and usher in the new week. It serves as a spiritual buffer from the holy rest of the Sabbath back into the routine of ordinary daily life.
The candle used during Havdalah must be made of intertwined wicks. The braiding of separate strands of wax represents how the Jewish community connects during Shabbat.
